GSM ROAMIMG IN UKRAINE

Roaming works in the greater part of Ukraine. Most used digital standard for mobile phones in Ukraine is GSM 1800, less popular are GSM 900 and D-AMPS. 80% of Ukrainian territory has GSM 1800 digital coverage. Roaming fees are very high in Ukraine, in contrast to local mobile fees. Sometimes, calling rates for roaming run up to 5 EURO/min and SMS more then 1 EURO. Most of the travelers prefer to use cellular phone rental service. Local Ukrainian fees are between 10-20 cents/min., some rental companies provide tariffs which are even cheaper and free calls within the group of tourists. International calls will cost from 20 cents to 60/min.
